Introduction to the Top Ten Nintendo 3DS Games

The Nintendo 3DS is an innovative handheld gaming console which uses an advanced technology to create a 3D on screen image without the need of 3D glasses. This revolutionary technology allows you to play fantastic Nintendo 3DS games in 3D, and without having to worry about carrying around a pair of 3D glasses, which are fragile, and lets face it, don't look particularly cool.

This list will bring you the very best 3D Nintendo 3DS games, the good news is however that the Nintendo 3DS is still fully compatible with Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi games. This means that you won't lose your old games, and you will gain the ability to play some immersive 3D games on your handheld console!

The range of Nintendo 3DS games is set to skyrocket in 2012, but even now we have seen a wide selection of 3D games appear for many of the popular DS game brands!

The Top Ten Nintendo 3DS Games

The Top Ten Nintendo 3DS Games List is my own personal opinion of which are the best 3DS games available at the time of writing, and while this will get updated, I don't know how regular it will be!

The good news is that if a 3DS game is good enough to get in to this list, then it will most definitely be worth purchasing, new or old.

So without further ado, and with a virtual fanfare, lets begin the Top Ten Nintendo 3DS Games!

Pokemon Rumble Blast 3DS

10) Pokemon Rumble Blast 3DS

Pokemon Rumble Blast 3DS brings the world of Pokemon to the 3D realm with some stunning graphics as you battle your Pokemon in a quest to become the best! This fast paced game will send you through a brand new world as you fight, battle and explore.

With over 600 collectable Pokemon you can quickly see that Nintendo have not skimped on the detail as they transitioned Pokemon to the 3D world. If anything the new action gameplay and battle modes make this even better than the traditional 2D gameplay.

Of course, this new fast paced gameplay might not appeal to everyone, if you liked the more sedate pace of the original Pokemon games, this new action feel can make the game feel like something different. Personally though, I love it!

Rayman 3D Nintendo 3DS Game

9) Rayman 3D

Rayman is one of the most iconic characters that many of us grew up with. The humerous story lines, quirky characters and well built gameplay made it a huge success. Now with the Nintendo 3DS you can re-live the remastered version of Rayman 2 in full 3D!

As with the previous Rayman games, in the new 3D remake you will have to use a variety of skills to master the world around you, rather than just having to strafe and shoot.

While it is hard to ignore the fact that yes, this is just another port of an old game, the truth is Rayman 3D feels like a new game entirely. The levels, characters and bosses will all feel very familiar to those who have played the original Rayman 2, but the new indepth 3D feel and improved graphics definitely add a whole new level to this Nintendo 3DS game.

8) Paper Mario 3DS

Paper Mario 3DS is easily one of the best 3DS games out there. What makes this game special is not how it creates a stunning 3D game, but rather how it retains a true 3D gameplay in a 3D world.

Paper Mario 3DS brings the simple feel of a 2D game in to 3D surroundings, and it does this quite simply by making everything, erm, paper?

Yes, the graphics on Paper Mario Bros 3DS do look kind like paper, but they have been beautifully moulded in to a fantastic 3D world! You will quickly find yourself enjoying a playstyle that feels both familiar and unique at the same time, as you explore a platform game with some well adapted 3D elements.

Ridge Racer 3D

Racing has never been so realistic than when you have dirt come flying out of the screen towards you in Ridge Racer 3D, one of tbest Nintendo 3DS Games in the racing genre. With Ridge Racer 3D you really do get the feeling that you are racing in 3D. The flare from your nitrus will pop out towards you, the blur of speed will seem even more immersing, and yes, turn too quickly and you may find yourself blinking to avoid a face full of dirt!

To help you be the best you now have a wider range of powerful machines to choose from, combined with new drift mechanics, and up to 4 player multiplayer racing mode!

If you are looking to race against your friends and the AI in a realistic Nintendo 3DS game, then this is for you!

Street Fighter IV 3D Edition

6) Street Fighter IV 3D Edition

Street Fighter has been the fighting game for as long as I can remember. It has returned several times since the original version, but none have excited me as much as the appearance of Street Fighter 3DS. Street Fighter IV 3D edition is definitely one of the best 3DS Games thanks to it's intense button mashing game play, with a fighting experience which literally pops out of the screen at you!

With both local and Internet multiplayer modes you can fight your way to victory with 35 of the meanest characters on the Nintendo 3DS console.

What makes this one of the best Nintendo 3DS games is a mixture between the simplicity, the difficulty to master, and the addictiveness of beating your friends and strangers as you attempt to become the best!

5) Star Fox 64 3D

Star Fox 64 3D brings back my all time favorite Nintendo 64 game to the Nintendo 3DS. In Star Fox 64 3D you must navigate through a large number of beautifully designed missions, taking down hundreds of enemy fighters as well as some obscenely tough bosses.

While there is not really any new content in Star Fox 64 3D, you do get anew gyroscope steering method, which is a whole lot of fun, and the new 3D graphics make this game infinitely more engaging and immersing than ever before, with lasers feeling as though they are flying right past your head!

If that was not enough, you can have up to four player battles, where you must take down your friends in fierce firefights.

3) Super Mario 3D Land

Super Mario 3D Land takes the Super Mario brand to a 3D world, which makes full use of the Nintendo 3DS's amazing capabilities. Super Mario 3D land is not just another 3DS port, it really does bring new levels, new moves, and new enemies to the game. Of course you will still see plenty of the classic Mario powerups, but there is enough new content to make this feel fresh, on top of the 3D visuals!

The new 3D landscape with the true feeling 3D visuals make this a much more strategic and involving game. Since it is now much easier to judge both depth and distance in 3D you will find much more complex and puzzling maps which you must navigate as you battle the vast hordes of Goombas.

Don't worry though, even thought this is a 3D landscape, it still retains all the fun playability of the original Mario titles!

The LEgend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D might just be a remake of the N64 classic for the Nintendo 3DS, but the tried and tested story line combined with teh fantastic 3DS visuals make this one of the best 3DS games on this list.

Even if you played the original Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time, this is well worth buying. The full 3D styling makes this game more fun than ever before, and with new gyro sensor controls, an intuitive hints system and a new Master Quest, this is one amazing 3DS game.
