How to Make Vegan Cupcakes
Cupcakes were one of my favorite treats, especially chocolate cupcakes, now I am seeing a vegan I see no reason why we should not share in the most delicious of meals together. That's why I took this fantastic Vegan Recipe for Chocolate Vegan Cupcakes and made her some for valentines day.
Making vegan cupcakes is easy as pie with this vegan cupcake recipe!
To make vegan chocolate cupcakes you will need,
- 3C flour
- 6T cocoa powder
- 2t baking soda
- 2C white sugar (I like to use 1 1/2 C white sugar and 1/2 C brown sugar, but its up to you)
- 1t salt
- 10T vegetable oil
- 2T white vinegar
- 2t vanilla extract
- 2C cold water
First off preheat your oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit. Then, in a big mixing bowl, throw in the
flour, baking soda, cocoa powder, sugar and salt. Mix it all up with a large spoon. When it is well stirred make a well in the middle of the dry mixture and add
the vegetable oil, vanilla extract, white vinegar and the cold water. If
you have a mixer then fantastic, otherwise continue to mix with your spoon until the mixture has a smooth consistency Once you have this you are ready to break!
Take your cupcake pan and put the little paper cups in to it. it helps if you grease the paper cups before pouring in the batter. When you’re ready to pour, use a ladle and fill the cups about three quarters of the way and then pop them into the oven and bake about 25 to 30 minutes. Poke the middle cupcake with a toothpick to check that they are done. This should take between 20 and 30 minutes!.
After they’ve cooled decorate them with some Vegan Frosting and you are ready to go with some perfect Vegan Chocolate Cupcakes, ready for any occasion with this delicious vegan cupcake recipe!

does 't' mean tablespoon or teaspoon? x
teaspoon :)
How many cupcakes does this recipe meake?
Um, half of all white sugar isn't vegan! So by using white sugar in your recipe defeats the purpose of making a vegan cupcake. http://www.vegsource.com/jo/qa/qasugar.htm
It's true that a large amount of white sugar is refined using animal bones, you can however easily locate vegan white sugar, or even research which sugar companies do not use that particular refining process.
is the capital T a tablespoon and a small t a teaspoon? :)
Yep :)
really? I didn't know that about white sugar and animal bones. wow. anyway those sound yummy.
I have to try this recipe! I've never seen white vinegar used to bake. Wondering how it will taste...
I was surprised myself, my fiancée Jade introduced me to this technique, she runs the website http://www.myveganplanet.com
Looks great~!I have to tell my friend about your hubs!
Most UK white sugar is vegan depends on your country
Hi I prepared these cakes today for the first time. Thanks for your post which helped me.
Everything was good except, I couldnt get the cakes to come to brim of the cups. If I poured more batter it kindof made the cup flat and when I poured less batter it didnot come till the edge of cups after baking.
Was the paper cups weakness the reason
or was my batter too fluid
or should I have used more baking soda
or anything else
Please advice.
What part of this recipe is vegan? Would it be the oil used or the white processed flour or maybe the processed sugar? Can I substitute all of this and still have an edible cupcake?
Vegetable Oil is vegan, and most processed sugar is also vegan, likewise processed flour is usually vegan.
Very few sugar processing plants use the filtering methods used which are based on ground animal bones, and some people argue that some other brands of sugar are not vegan because, wait for it, coal may contain the remains of dead animals, even if they have been compressed and heated to the point of becoming pure carbon.
If however you follow a normal vegan diet rather than going to the extremes, all the above are vegan friendly.
How big are the cups? If C means cups...
Thanks!
How many should this recipe make?

Awesome cupcakes! thanks, I have a kitchen full of them now!
I looked at the recipes on the website you mention (in one of the above comments). The brownie recipe looks tasty and I have been looking for a simple recipe for those for a while, thanks. Cupcakes, look nice too.
